Meet Kristen Ripley – Sr. Director of Events- Kings Dining & Entertainment

Kristen was born and raised in New Jersey and after graduating from William Patterson University, Kristen moved to Boston in 2005 and settled down into the city she would grow to love. Before finding her home with Kings, Kristen was working in events at some of Boston’s most notable nightclubs and industry hangouts. Working for Mansion and The Estate, Kristen’s industry knowledge and network connections were top notch and something that has been crucial to Kings’ success in the ever evolving industry.

Before starting with the events department with Kings, Kristen was a successful server in our flagship location in Boston’s Back Bay. By executing many events Kristen quickly learned there was a great business opportunity to combine great genuine food, crafty cocktails and a memorable experience with a party at Kings

In 2009 Kristen had the opportunity to open our second location at Legacy Place in Dedham, MA. Kristen was to oversee the newly created events department for both locations in Dedham and Boston as Head Event Planner.  This was a big step for our company as it was the building block that our events team was built on. Now with an annual average of over 25,000 events booked each year, Kristen was there from the beginning, sculpting and refining our events program and its offerings into everything that our guests know and love to this day.

Kristen’s passion for exceeding expectations and proving to event hosts that Kings is the right choice is something to be admired. Her ability to maintain relationships that result in deep loyalty and repeat bookings is one of the main reasons Kings is one of the leaders in the industry to book an event with. Whether it be a private family event, or a companywide outing, Kristen had that personal touch with each client from a 6 person kid’s party to a thousand person corporate event.  Each event was special, and each guest knew the time and energy Kristen would put into their important and special occasion.

As Kings has continued to grow, Kristen has been a vital part of the opening team, assisting with each opening from Dedham onward. Kristen has worked with each opening team to help market and establish our brand in different locales and markets across the US. Working hand in hand with the marketing department on the successful and legendary hospitality and charity events Kings is known for, Kristen has maintained relationships and created a culture of giving back to the community we serve through her commitment to charitable events.

With the company growing and each location being more anticipated than the last, Kristen was promoted to the Director of Events in 2013, overseeing the events teams in all locations as well as the systems, training, and menus the events team uses each day.

Training and development of each new event coordinator is no easy feat, yet Kristen’s ability to connect personally and patiently oversee the success of each new member of the events team has proven to be one of the main reasons Kings has been successful year after year. Her development of the events team has proven and given birth to some of the most dedicated and passionate Kings ambassadors.

With our events growing year after year, Kristen has worked closely with our Marketing department and senior leadership to help implement and roll out new systems and simplified technology to make booking with Kings easy and effortless. With the integration of major sales booking technology, Kristen worked closely with each events team member, as well as the front of house management to ensure that this was a seamless transition. A big step for our company, Kristen’s leadership and clear communication effectively rolled out this new system in record time throughout all stores, making our ability to book more efficiently and with greater care for each of our clients and team. The infrastructure, systems and routines in the events department at Kings are due large in part to Kristen’s passion for creating a better, more effective and more efficient way to streamline the processes which has allowed the events teams to spend more time with their guests at Kings.

With each new opening Kristen’s ability to align each location and mentorship on each of their development has made her a vital asset to the Kings Senior Leadership Team. Like many in our company, Kristen started in the ranks of hourly team member and worked her way up to a Senior Director for Kings Dining & Entertainment. Helping build a culture that is proud to promote from within, and the development of our team is just as important.

“When I read emails from clients who take the time to mention their service team and how they made their experience above and beyond memorable, I know we have a team that’s dedicated to making our guests happy. It re-affirms that our efforts on all fronts is directly linked to our culture and guest service standards. I’m proud of the effort each team member puts in.”

When Kristen is not traveling from location to location, or at KDE World Headquarters, you can find her spending time with her family and energetic toddler Delaney.
