Meet Michelle Holloway, Senior Sales & Marketing Manager, Dedham
Michelle grew up in Dorchester, MA and went on to graduate from Bridgewater State University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice. Michelle was setting out to continue her education and become a lawyer but once she began working in the hospitality industry her passion took a turn. She started off working for a large scale hotel chain as a Guest Service Agent, this is when she was really able to connect with people and realized that this was the industry she wanted to pursue. From there Michelle went on to be a Front Office Supervisor and Sales Manager for the hotel chain prior to moving on as an Event Sales Manager for an entertainment venue.
Michelle’s passion for people and the hospitality industry was quickly recognized by many of the Kings leaders who had the opportunity to interview her. “Within the first five minutes of Michelle’s interview I knew she was someone I wanted to work with, her natural and genuine way of connecting with people is astounding,” says Kristen Ripley, Senior Director of Events. Shortly after, Michelle started with Kings Dining & Entertainment in June of 2018 as the Sales & Marketing Manager.
It did not take long for Michelle’s expertise to shine through and quickly after she completed training she jumped right in to assist in the revamping of the Kings Training Program, offering a ton of insight. She has helped to contribute in many areas of the training program as she is always looking for better ways of doing things for her teammates and guests. “While Michelle was training, I saw a lot of myself in her. She adapted very quickly and was excited by learning new things while also providing valuable feedback,” says Melissa Davis, Director of Event Training & Technology. Since, Michelle has aided in many of our Sales Managers training and continues to be a source of support to our team members in all regions. In April of 2019 Michelle was promoted to Senior Sales & Marketing Manager for Kings Dedham where she continues to be an essential part of the team and a knowledgeable source for all guests.
When Michelle was asked what first drew her to Kings she explained “The team culture initially drew me to Kings! I came to Kings numerous times before I worked here and loved the vibe, the food and the team members. Every time I went to Kings it was a great experience, the team looked generously happy to be there and I appreciated that as a guest.” Her appreciation as a guest has carried over into her career as she continues to have a “guest first” mentality.
When you visit the Kings Dedham location you will almost always find Michelle meeting with guests for venue tours and food tastings. She is continuously encouraging her guests to come in to meet her and the team prior to coming in for an event. She enjoys taking this time to paint a picture of how their celebration will be and build meaningful connections and trust with her guests. Michelle does not stop there! She thoughtfully adds personal touches to the celebrations she is a part of based on the relationships she builds.
Michelle has contributed to a multitude of company-wide initiatives and continues to raise her hand to get involved in the growth of the organization. Her Kings journey is one to stay tuned for, as it does not end here!
When Michelle is not working with the Dedham team you can find her enjoying time with her husband Al and her family. She has a very close knit family and that has undoubtedly contributed to the people person that she is today.
Do you love to connect with people and learn what makes them happy? Are you looking for a supportive, team-oriented environment with plenty of room for you to grow? If you have the drive to challenge yourself and deliver the goods when it comes to hospitality, apply to Kings today to get started.
