Welcome to Kings! What Brings You Out Tonight?

In a building filled with so many activities and possibilities, it can be tough figuring out where to begin. Having spent four years in our Dedham location, far and wide my favorite part of our building has always been that every day is something new and that we have groups partaking in so many different celebrations and activities! In Dedham—the second of our five Boston area spots— we have three bars, award-winning food, and games that run the gamut from classic ten-pin bowling to four-player-air-hockey to giant Jenga (when we say, giant, we mean it! It's never long before the blocks are towering over even the tallest of players), among many other favorites! We get to meet people out for everything from weekly trivia and karaoke, to bachelorette parties, co-worker team building, and first dates. The venue buzzing with people out to have a good time and unwind with friends and loved ones. What could be better?!

How do I get a Bowling Lane?

The first question from most first-time guests is, “I’ve never been here before, how does it work?” There's not really a wrong answer, as the options are plentiful, but we think that the best way to fully experience the venue and game with less of a wait is our ‘DINE THEN BOWL’ reservation. As there are so many groups coming in with the same intentions, we break our lane seating down very deliberately into three categories:
  • We have lanes reserved for our events team to put together celebrations such as birthdays, anniversary parties, baby showers, you name it!
  • We have lanes that we allow to our Dine then Bowl guests, allowing them to move seamlessly from our Lounge (or Draft Room in certain locations) over to our bowling lanes.
  • We keep the rest of our lanes free for walk-in guests! We always want to make sure that groups can join us for spur-of-the-moment fun!

DTB Step One: Unwind and Dine on Uniquely Crafted Menu Items from our Scratch Kitchen

Many guests first find themselves in our venue for the gaming and keep coming back for the incredible food and fun ambiance. Our Dine then Bowl reservation rolls the two most iconic things Kings has to offer into one awesome package. This experience allows you to run the night on your time while you first savor a meal in our cozy lounge area, and move over to the lanes once you decide that you’re ready to roll (yes.. bowling puns always intended.) Kings’ menu is crafted with a passion and love for making genuine food from scratch. This is evident in classics that are executed perfectly— such as sweet and savory marinated steak tips—and also in our fun fusion dishes, such as the Italian Burger. Where else can you get a burger topped with house-made pesto, fresh buffalo mozzarella, marinara, and prosciutto? Not to mention that it sits between our house-baked Rosemary Foccacia. Yum! Get one while it lasts, our menu does update periodically to allow our culinary team to flex their creativity. Our newest addition being this month’s featured dessert: a mint chip shake sculpture with a sour belt and buttercream rainbows, towers of sprinkles on the rim, and who needs a cherry when you’ve got an Oreo truffle decked out as a Pot O’ Gold on top!

DTB Step Two: Let us Handle all the Details!

As your group is enjoying dinner, we provide a card for the table to fill out bowling names (real names or some sick aliases-totally up to you), shoe sizes, and any other special information you may want to include. Once your meal is complete and you let your server know you are ready to throw down on the lanes, we assign your group to the next alley that opens up, completely bypassing any waitlist we may be running at the host desk. Actually, if you so choose, you can skip the host desk entirely and pay for your lanes while still down in our restaurant. Our dining team will direct you to your proper alley with names set up and shoes waiting for you, extra VIP.

DTB Step Three: Show off those Skills!

Whether it’s been ten years, ten months, —or ten days for all you regulars out there!—once you start bowling it’s hard to play just one game. Whether competing against your friends, co-workers, or your own personal best, knocking down those pins is super addicting and one of the great American past-times. Speaking of great American past-times, all of our classic cocktails and ice-cold beers are available on the bowling lanes, as well as our entire menu in case you work up an appetite for a late night snack. You can’t go wrong with the French 75- a bubbly amalgam of champagne, citrus, and gin for good measure. If dessert is calling to you (and let’s be real when dessert calls it would be rude not to answer) the ‘Merica Sundae is to die for—mini apple turnovers grace a goblet of vanilla bean ice cream swirled with rum caramel sauce. Classic.

DTB Step Four: Bask in the After-Glow of Victory

But maybe give the losers a chance to reclaim some glory on the billiards tables. We have no shortage of barstools for once you’re ready to relax and catch the best in local sports! If you’re lucky you might be just in time for a DJ set spun by one of our finest. Cheers to great nights, great company, and great memories. And double-cheers to getting everything you want with little-to-no waiting! Bear in mind that these Dine then Bowl reservations do fill quickly on the weekends, but we always save a couple every hour. The best way to check availability is to call us or to book dinner via OpenTable and we will call you! See you on the lanes soon!
